Here are a few that keep me up at night: 1. If AI can do most cognitive work, what will give people a sense of purpose and identity? 2. Should a mind that can suffer, biological or digital, have rights? How would we even know? 3. If we could greatly extend human lifespan, who gets access first, and what happens to inequality? 4. Can democracies make good long-term decisions when the problems (climate, AI, biotech) move faster than elections? 5. When memories, photos and even voices can be perfectly faked, how do we decide what's true?
